To remain competitive in modern consumer electronics, antenna components must be miniaturized and lightweight while ensuring signal performance and cost-effectiveness. A leading consumer electronics manufacturer approached TK Precision with a request: adopt PDS antenna manufacturing technology, provide solutions, iteratively upgrade its existing coil antenna solution, and adjust the space to provide a larger storage location for the battery to enhance product endurance. The new PDS antenna combines a shell structure with an one-piece production design and rigorous performance testing. It is ahead of the original coil antenna in all indicators such as S11/Gain/Efficiency, and has doubled the communication distance in actual verification tests, which is recognized by customers.
Solution
TK Precision's solution is its innovative Printing Direct Structuring (PDS) antenna, which uses high-precision pad printing technology to replace the original coil antenna structure. On the basis of not changing the appearance of the shell, through scientific design, it makes full use of the internal space of the shell to expand the signal coverage, thereby increasing the communication distance, while reducing production time, reducing processing costs, reducing product weight, and providing convenience for battery expansion, thereby increasing the battery life. Customer tests demonstrate that, at equivalent power levels, the device's obstacle-free signal coverage distance extends from 20 meters to 39 meters, with communication efficiency increasing by as high as 95%.
